Pupils launch businesses for charity

Business-minded children from a city primary school used Dragon’s Den-style initiative to raise £3,000 for the Little Lives Appeal.

The Gilesbrook Year 6 pupils were each given £1 by the school and told to come up with a business idea to generate income.

The 10 and 11-year-olds worked on projects including car washing, cake sales and dog walking.

The resulting cash was this week handed over to Little Lives, an appeal backed by the Citizen to improve the hospital’s neonatal unit.

Other schools wanting to join the £1 challenge should contact Vanessa Holmes on MK 826690.
