A LIFE-CHANGING visit to Ghana is ensuring teachers from Milton Keynes have a lasting partnership with schools in North-East Ghana.
In February, 11 teachers from the city travelled to Bolgatanga in the Talensi-Nabdam region of Ghana as part of a Global Partner Initiative from the British Council.
Among the teachers were Natalie Sanders and Hannah Perriton from Heronsgate School, initiating the partnership with St Martins Junior High School (ages 11-21) and Tengzuk Primary School (ages 3-14).
Hannah Perriton said: “Visiting Ghana was a life changing experience and now our partners have enjoyed the Milton Keynes experience.”
Representatives from each of the Ghanaian schools have recently spent a week immersing themselves into Milton Keynes culture.
Those involved in the Global Partner Initiative are looking forward to keeping in touch online.
School Business Services, a local company owned by the family of a Heronsgate School pupil, will support the partnership with a two-year sponsorship to maintain an Internet connection.
