A BLETCHLEY man charged with the murder of Jonathan Barton is due to appear in court.
Leigh Clift, 31, from Lincolnshire Close, Bletchley was charged by Milton Keynes Police on Thursday evening in connected with an assault on Mr Barton in September 2000 and his subsequent death on July 11, 2009.
Mr Clift has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Luton Crown Court today. The case had originally been pencilled in for yesterday, but was adjourned.
Mr Barton, pictured, from Milton Keynes, was 19 years old when he was assaulted outside the Beacon Public House in September 2000.
He sustained serious head injuries and was left disabled.
Following his death in July, the police investigation was reopened.
