Emergency services were called out to a man who struck a postbox in his car in Milton Keynes which is thought to have been caused by a 'medical episode'.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said it sent one fire engine and crew to the incident in Wordsworth Avenue, Newport Pagnell, on Sunday (October 11) at around 11.10am.

Firefighters said they released the injured man and left him in the care of South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).

An SCAS spokesperson said: "We received a 999 call at 11am with the caller reporting a car had collided with a postbox on Wordsworth Avenue. We sent a community first responder, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to the incident.

"The driver was thought to have possibly suffered a medical episode at the wheel and following initial treatment was then taken to Milton Keynes University Hospital for further assessment."
