Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines, two crews and a water rescue unit to the incident in Greensand View, Woburn Sands, last night (Wednesday) at around 9pm.

One witness at the scene said: "A man was heard falling into the lake last night and fortunately another man in the neighbourhood, who was parking his car at the time, heard him fall in. He alerted his neighbour and they held on to him with a mopping pole and alerted fire and rescue."
