A few weeks on from his date up the road in Bedford, and the ‘original rudeboy’ is back in the area this Friday evening for a date at The Craufurd Arms.

Former Specials and Fun Boy Three ace Neville Staple was a forerunner of the ska movement, and remains an, erm, staple of all that is quality about the genre – and credit to him, because he’s been at ‘his game’ for more than 35 years. That’s real.

What to expect in exchange for your £17.50 entry fee?

A selection of Neville’s self-penned works, some arrangements of his favourite old school ska numbers and, naturally, a tasty amount of classic hits will be woven into the mix.

Go Ska Crazy (as per the title of his recent album) from 7.30pm tomorrow night.

“I pass by Milton Keynes all the time en route to Southbound gigs, so it will be nice to stop off for a change and have a party,” Neville told me.

“Yes. Milton Keynes, be ready for a fun party, original rudeboy style!”

Support comes from The Bighead, with more to be announced.

Doors at 7.30pm.
