Enjoy a cup of coffee at Milton Keynes hotel and help Project Waterfall

Anyone who buys a cup of coffee at the Campanile Hotel restaurant on Penn Road in Fenny Stratford during UK Coffee Week, which is running until Sunday, April 22, will see half of the cost of their cup re-invested back into coffee growing communities.

Matthew Tatton, general manager at the Campanile Hotel in Fenny Stratford, said: “It’s often overlooked that water – the basic ingredient needed to enjoy a cup of coffee – isn’t readily available to the communities that grow coffee beans that billions of us enjoy, which is why we are getting behind this initiative and would encourage others to join us.

“Project Waterfall is a fantastic cause that has so far delivered safe water to 27,000 people in under-developed countries during the past six years through donations from the public.

“We’d urge as many people as possible to drop by at some point to have a quick brew that will make a difference.”

The Campanile restaurant in Fenny Stratford is open weekdays from 6.30am until 11pm, and from 7am until 11pm at weekends.

UK Coffee Week sees funds raised for the Allegra Foundation’s Project Waterfall initiative, which is seeking to bring clean drinking water and sanitation to coffee-growing communities around the world.

According to the Allegra Foundation, currently around 90 per cent of coffee comes from third world countries such as Ethiopia, Rwanda and Tanzania where more than 60 per cent of people lack basic access to safe, clean water.
