Online entry is now open for the Milton Keynes first full marathon and runners are being encouraged to take part for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The event, which takes place on Sunday, April 29, and is hugely important for charities and Marie Curie Cancer Care is looking for runners throughout the region to rise to the challenge in 2012 and join their Daffodil Team to raise money in support of the charity.
These vital funds will help to provide free specialist nursing care to enable more people with terminal cancer and other illnesses to be nursed and cared for in their own homes.
As a member of the Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Team runners will receive a unique Nike Dri-FIT running vest designed exclusively and solely for Marie Curie Cancer Care to keep their runners cool and dry, full fundraising support prior to the race and sports massage to sooth aching muscles after the race.
David Hedges, Events Fundraiser at Marie Curie Cancer Care said: “If you fancy joining thousands of people pouring through the streets of Milton Keynes in this iconic marathon that finishes within the stadiummk, then the Milton Keynes Marathon is for you. It is an incredibly special event to take part in, particularly as you’ll also be helping our Marie Curie Nurses to give more free nursing care to terminally ill people in the comfort of their own homes.”
