Jam-packed programme of activities and events starts up again this week in Milton Keynes Parks

Small-scale events are being re-introduced in MK parks for the first time since the Covid crisis began.

All the activities, which range form bug hunting to pond dipping, must be booked in advance with the Parks Trust and there is a small charge for most of them

The programme kicks off at 10am tomorrow morning with bug hunting at Howe Park Wood, where children will be issued with a hunting kit including a net, ID sheet and magnifying glass.

In the afternoon there is a family pond dipping session at 1.30pm atLinford Lakes Nature Reserve, followed by a family bat walk after dark at 9pm.

On Saturday, dog owners can enjoy a 'Woof Walk' through Ouzel Valley Park for £1 per person, meeting in the car park off Simpson Road at 10am.

Next Monday, August 17, sees an Introduction to Bushcraft: Shelters and Knots for adults at Hazeley Wood

from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. There is also a family pond dipping session at Linford Lakes at 1.30pm and bug hunting in the morning at Howe Park Wood.

On Tuesday, August 18, there's a Discovery Stroll at 2pm in Howe Park Wood. It's a gentle stroll suitable for wheelchair users and buggies.

Wednesday sees more bug hunting in the morning, followed by pond dipping in the afternoon.

All the activities will comply with the current government guidelines surrounding Covid-19 and people will be asked to maintain social distancing while taking part.
