As part of MK50, businesses sponsored a cow which was decorated with their branding - the event is also raising money for charity.

As a sponsor ‘Cows on Parade’ by Herd About MK delivered a sculpted life-sized concrete cow ready for the business to decorate.

The cow will then be picked up and ‘paraded’ four times throughout the year at different locations in Milton Keynes.

The Citizen is among 49 other local businesses who have sponsored a concrete cow to support the MK Community Foundation and Willen Hospice.

Project coordinator from Herd About MK Simeon Jackson, said: “Now the cows have landed, the project is really starting to take shape.

“We’re really excited at bringing together the wealth of successful businesses and the exciting creative talent MK has to offer.”

Dawn Clark, Willen Hospice fundraising manager, added: “Willen Hospice needs to raise £3.6 million every year and support from businesses and projects like Herd About MK make a tremendous contribution to this.

“We want to share our appreciation of this project and getting the swans involved is great exposure and fun for us too.”

You can show your support for the Herd About MK project by visiting the cows tonight (March 31) and over the weekend at Middleton Hall in CMK.
