Facebook page is taking the MK

A tongue-in-cheek Facebook page depicting ‘Things people in Milton Keynes don’t say’ is gaining massive popularity in social media circles.

Set up last week the page, which has already gained more than 2,500 likes, includes contributions from residents as well as from the page’s creators.

Everything from city nightlife and grid roads to restaurants and sports are covered and dozens pour in every day.

Ironically, in the week that we revealed Red Hot World Buffet scored zero in the Food Hygiene Rating one entry read: “The quality of the food at Red Hot is outstanding.”

Another, poking fun at the soon to be casino site at Xscape, says: “It’s simple to explain why City Limits was based within a model 19th Century New Orleans steam boat.”

The page is one of hundreds set up around the country with Luton and Bedford also having pages set up. Not all the comments are jokes with one defending the perception city outsiders have.

It reads: “I love the way everyone assumes MK is a concrete jungle even though it’s covered in parkland, lakes and trees.”
