The Milton Keynes College Film Club is in the running for best film club in the ‘Into Film Club of the Year 13 and Over’ category and its members have been invited to attend a ceremony hosted by presenter Edith Bowman at Odeon Leicester Square in London on Tuesday.

The Into Film Awards celebrate young people aged 5 to 19 who have shown exceptional achievements in filmmaking or reviewing, and to educators who have demonstrated inspirational use of film in the classroom.

Established in 2010, the Milton Keynes College Film Club regularly attracts 50 film fans who enjoy watching a diverse and thought-provoking range of films and discussing them. The club also runs filmmaking workshops and career talks.

Club leader Jim Nowell said: “It feels amazing to be nominated for Film Club of the Year. I really feel we deserve it and my students they really, really do deserve it… The benefits to us for winning this award would be the students get the recognition for what they deserve. They’ve put the effort in and I think they need some appreciation.”
