Fire causes thick black smoke visible for several miles in Milton Keynes

Firefighters have confirmed nobody has been injured in a blaze that cause plumes of thick black smoke over Wolverton and Greenleys earlier this evening.

The fire spread from a shed to a double garage in Plowman Close, Greenleys.

It is believed car tyres in the garage caused the dense smoke.

Fire crews were called just before 5pm and four fire engines attended. Firefighters managed to stop the fire spreading to the nearby house.

A spokesman for Bucks Fire and Rescue service said: "Crews currently dealing with a fire which has spread from a shed to a double garage and semi-detached house in Plowman Close, Greenleys. No injuries are reported."
