Government officials announced a flood warning on the Upper River Great Ouse, this morning Friday May 14.

This potential flooding could impact Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes

Officials announced the possibility of flooding along the river from Brackley to Haversham. Currently, flooding is considered 'possible' and residents are advised to be prepared for this possibility.

A spokesperson for the government said: "Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point. We expect river levels to continue to rise steadily this morning. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."

The potential threat has arisen due to persistent rainfall in the Brackley area, causing river levels to rise by the gauge. Roads and farmland are the most likely to be affected by potential flooding today.
