Set up to fill a recognised football development gap, the academy is celebrating reaching its 15-year milestone this year.

More than 180 students have completed the full-time two-year course, attaining BTEC and FA coaching qualifications.

PE teacher Malcolm Lay, who runs the academy, said: “The football academy has a proven track record of producing some outstanding candidates who have gone on to have fantastic careers in the sporting world or have continued in the same field in further education.”
