Former BBC employee to face trial over indecently assaulting a woman in Milton Keynes

A former BBC employee will face trial over allegations he indecently assaulted a woman while he worked for the company more than 30 years ago.

Geoffrey Wheeler, 70, allegedly assaulted the woman at the BBC studios in Milton Keynes in the 1980s.

Wheeler is not to be confused with the former presenter of Songs of Praise of the same name who died in 2014.

Wheeler, of Hopkins Close, Milton Keynes, who denies five counts of indecent assault, was charged under Operation Yewtree - the police investigation into historic sexual abuse in the aftermath of the Jimmy Savile scandal.

He was bailed to face trial in March next year.
