Betty Freeman spent 38 years teaching children and she’s still capable of correcting people when they make a grammatical slip, said her son Nick.
For the past nine years Betty has lived at Lathbury Manor residential care home, where staff pride themselves on her longevity.

Betty has two sons, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
“She comes from a long line of women who lived until they were a very advanced age,” said Nick.
“Her mother and her grandmother both lived until they were 90, which was unusual for their generations.”
After Betty retired from teaching, her interests were bridge, music and literature.
