WITH the footie season over, MK Dons Stadium will be awash with film fans, and stars, as the annual Collectormania event returns to the ground, tomorrow.
Organisers have booked close to 50 stars from the world of film and TV for the three day event.
From the man with the voice deep enough to scare sharks, Brian Blessed, through to the man who swears blind about everything, Mr Danny Dyer.
Doctor Who fans will be in their element with Karen Gillan, Colin Baker, Katy Melling, Louise James Richard Hope, Sylvester McCoy and Tom Baker among the many Tardis types showing up to the bash.
GO! is especially happy to see Richard Kiel among the line-up.
As ‘Jaws’ in the James Bond movies, he made more of an impact on us than Bond did.Superman himself, Brandon Routh, Aliens star Lance Henriksen, Richard Briers (star of The Good Life, for goodness sake!) and Lord of the Rings’ Sean Astin are all popping by.
And, remember those cutey-cute, water-evading Gremlins who you shouldn’t feed after midnight? They can’t make it this time, but star of the flick Zach Galligan will be making an appearance.
Stadium:mk will welcome some sporting heroes to the bash as well, though, with a Spurs 1961 team reunion, and the Liverpool squad of ‘65 dribbling in.
Former Charlton player turned pundit, Matt Holland will be meeting fans, and snooker loopy chaps Wayne Mardle, Dennis Priestly, Joe Johnson and Willie Thorne will all appear, on cue!
Stars of motorsport will zoom in as well, with Stirling Moss, Tony Brooks, John Watson and Richard Attwood confirmed.
Fans of Al Pacino will be interested to know that the man Pacino portrayed in Raging Bull will be squaring up for the bash too, boxing legend Jake LaMotta.
Wow that’s a line-up that really packs a punch, don’t you think?
This is your chance to meet the famous faces, and get them to sign their squiggles on your memorabilia. For a fee, of course.
Aside from the signing sessions and photo opportunities, visitors will be able to splash the cash in the traders area which will be rich with merchandise and memorabilia from some of the true movie classics.
Toys, films, comics and all manner of quirky cool will be available.
We picked up a rather fetching Del Boy car air freshener last time around...and nope, it didn’t smell of pongy Peckham!
There is plenty of parking on site, and those of you in CMK will be able to make use of a free shuttle service from MK, and the train station to thestadium:mk
