Fun food event in aid of children's charity

The Great Brickhill-based charity is asking people across Milton Keynes to host a Dine High event in their home and raise funds for Ride High.

To take part all you need to do is invite your family and friends to a meal of your choice over the weekend of May 5 to 8 and ask them to make donation in aid of the charity.

Ride High changes the lives of disadvantaged children by improving their self-esteem, confidence, life skills and future prospects through work with horses. It currently works with more than 80 children each week from its centre at Bryerley Springs Farm.

To take part in the Dine High event, people can host any meal at any time over the weekend. It could be a movie night, curry night, tea party, breakfast, barbecue, picnic, candlelit dinner or a buffet in the office with colleagues.

The event will also feature a prize draw for all those taking part, with amazing prizes including a week’s stay in South Africa for up to 14 people.

Ride High patron Jeremy Vine said: “Taking part in Dine High is the perfect way for the community to support this local charity from their own front room. Good food, friends, family and fun for a wonderful cause.

“I’ll be sharing a cream cake or three in honour of Ride High and I hope many more will do the same.”

Ride High spokesman Hayley Mackenzie-Wright said: “We ran this project back in April 2015 and because of the local support raised £10,000.

“We’re encouraging you to get together with your favourite people, spread the word about Ride High and raise some money for this local charity. It doesn’t matter how many guests you invite or whether you raise £20 or £200 – we want people to take part in whatever way suits them.”
