'˜Future has wealth of opportunities for MK's young people', says MP

The first National Apprenticeship Show has been praised by MK North MP Mark Lancaster.

The defence minister was there to see first-hand the huge influx of students, teachers and parents who met with companies showcasing the variety of apprenticeships on offer.

At the show opening yesterday, Mr Lancaster said: “With the endorsement that MK has one of the fastest growing economies in the UK, it’s only right that we encourage further growth and demonstrate that the future has a wealth of opportunities for our young people.”

It was an impressive start to the two day event at arena:mk with 3,000 schools were invited to share in the wealth of opportunities available.

More than 16,000 young people are expected to visit during the two-day event which ends tonight.

It was officially opened by the Prime Minister’s apprenticeship adviser Nadhim Zahawi MP who said the enthusiasm in the room was “infectious”.
