COLLEGE students wowed shoppers with an amazing Avant Garde hair show yesterday.
The hairdressing scholars from Milton Keynes College put on the performance as part of the Milton Keynes College Creative Industries Summer Exhibition 2012 in Middleton Hall.
The fabulous looks were based around an Olympic theme with influences from countries all around the world. Displays at 1.30pm and 3pm culminated in catwalk shows.
The exhibition started yesterday and will run until July 1. Members of the public are invited to come to see the work of the city’s top young talent in everything from Graphic Design, Fine Art and Photography through to Performance, Fashion, Floristry, Beauty and Hospitality.
Saturday will see a full Fashion Catwalk Show with the students strutting their stuff in their own latest designs while their colleagues from Beauty demonstrate some amazing techniques of Theatrical and Media Make-Up.
On Sunday, it’s the Performing Arts students will tread the boards in a showcase of their talents with musical theatre, singing, choreography and street dance for all the family to enjoy.
Meanwhile, the catering students will be revealing many of the secrets of the culinary arts with demonstrations including pasta making, salad preparation and vegetable garnishes. There is an extensive photographic exhibition comprising student work across a wide range including portraits, fashion, photojournalism and landscapes.
Entry is free and everyone is welcome between 10am and 6pm up until Saturday and on Sunday from 11am until 5pm.
