Gang of burglars pin down terrfied man while they rifle through his flat

Police are searching for a ruthless gang of crooks who barged their way into a flat to rob the occupant.

The aggravated burglary took place on Thursday between 7pm and 8.30pm.

Four men knocked at the door of a the first floor flat in Chaplin Grove on Crownhill.

A police spokesman said; “One man asked to come in but, when the occupant tried to close the door, the man and three others pushed their way into the flat and restrained the victim.”

The men rifled through the premises and took several items, including an old ring box decorated on top with matchsticks, a necklace with the letters ‘M’, ‘B’ and ‘T’ and a St Christopher on it.

Also stolen were a number of watches, a camera, a drill, various pairs of sunglasses, and electrical items.

Three of the offenders are black, and one is white. The victim sustained a swollen eye and a cut on his cheek.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Serena Bellis said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who has had a variety of items stolen, including jewellery.

“We are investigating this aggravated burglary and would appeal to anyone who has any information to please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.”
