Daniel Herbert will follow in the his father’s footsteps in the field and over the next year will start his career while training with the Homebase Garden Academy.

The academy develops gardening skills and knowledge whilst working alongside award-winning gardener designer Adam Frost, learning about planning and design, products and practical horticultural skills to earn a Royal Horticultural Society Level 1 Award qualification.

Daniel, who will work at the Milton Keynes Homebase store, said: “I loved being outdoors and getting my hands mucky when I was young and that fun aspect of gardening has never left me. “My dad has run his own landscaping business for over 20 years now and he was my inspiration to apply for the programme. It’s great to have secured a place on the Garden Academy and have the opportunity to develop my gardening skills and knowledge.”

Robert Lewis, store manager from Homebase Milton Keynes, said: “The academy is a fantastic opportunity for people from different backgrounds to come together to share their passion for gardening and turn it into a career and Daniel is a great addition to our team.”
