GCSEs: Shenley Brook End students are record breakers

Shenley Brook End continued to break records as students celebrate the best GCSE results in the school’s history.

Overall, 76 per cent of students achieved five or more GCSEs at A*-C including English and Maths, and 94 per cent of all students gaining five or more GCSE passes.

There are many outstanding individual performances, including twins Ben and Josh Myles who gained 26 A* and A grades between them.

Other notable achievers contain Jumana Awad, who earned 13 A*s and two As, Purvi Makwana received 10 A*s and six As and David Orange who achieved nine A*s and six As.

Overall, 62 per cent of all students gained at least one A* or A grade.

Headteacher Glen Martin said: “I am pleased for everyone that their hard work has been rewarded with these excellent results.

“Students, Staff and parents have all contributed to this outstanding achievement. I will have to try and make more room in our sixth form for the successful applicants.”
