Two survivors from wartime atrocities will talk about their experiences at a Genocide Awareness Day being hosted at Sir Herbert Leon Academy on Tuesday.
Holocaust survivor Ruth Barnett, a Kindertransport child, and Nedzad Advik, a survivor of the 1995 Srebrenica massacre during the Balkan conflict, will tell their stories to sixth form students.
Students Jamie Lee Humphries, Kelsey Stuart and Francesca Da Ros all visited Auschwitz recently, and will give presentations at the thought-provoking event.
“We are very proud of our longstanding recognition of Genocide memorial. It is essential that our young people understand and know about the horrors that others endure,” said headteacher Dr Jo Trevenna.
