Get smart on cyber security with free workshops

Thames Valley Police is inviting residents and businesses to sign up to free workshops on cyber security and safety issues.

They are being organised by online safety organisation Get Safe Online, as part of a ‘Keeping Safe in Thames Valley’ event, being hosted at Middleton Hall, thecentre:mk on April 29.

The workshops will each last for 45 minutes and target three key groups:

Parents, carers and younger people: 10am

Small local businesses: 12pm

Over 50’s: 2pm

“Cyber crime is an emerging and growing crime and there are steps that everyone can take to protect themselves,” said Ch Supt Andy Boyd, Head of Neighbourhood Policing and Partnerships.

“I would encourage residents and businesses to take up this great opportunity to attend these free workshops and receive valuable, hands-on practical advice from experts in the field of online safety,” he added.

The Keeping Safe in Thames Valley event will run between 9.30am and 4pm on April 29 & 30 with stalls, activities and advice from Thames Valley Police and partner organisations.
