City writer Louise Gibney has just published her debut novel ‘Girl Meets Boys’ and will be hosting a ‘Meet The Author’ event in Stony Stratford next month.
The event will be held from 7pm to 8.30pm on Wednesday, February 15 at the library in Stony Stratford. You’ll meet the author, hear extracts from the book, and there will be an opportunity to find out more about the book and the story of online dating behind it.
‘Girl Meets Boys’ is an internet-age romantic comedy set in partly set in Stony Stratford, some in Milton Keynes and Northampton; a story of girl meets boy. Plural. An embarrassing and hilarious journey through the perils of dating, Louise’s novel gives the reader an unpredictably entertaining and cringe-worthy insight into a young woman’s online search for a boyfriend. No detail is left unspoken in this narrative non-fiction piece, and has been making readers laugh ever since it was published.
Louise said: “Determination is key – writers have to believe in themselves or nothing will ever happen! It took me over a year to get it published, but I felt well-prepared when the happy event actually came round. It’s a story worth being told!”
The bold cover is easy to recognise, and the book’s had a great reception so far following its launch in October. It would make an ideal holiday read, or a present for a friend, so come along to the event to take a look and meet the author herself. The book is available for the bargain price of £5.99 at www.LuLu.com or on Amazon, and will of course be available at the event. ‘Girl Meets Boys’ is also available on Kindle. We wish Louise all the best for her book and look forward to the next one!
