Some 300 past and present pupils, staff and governors helped celebrate Haversham School’s Golden Anniversary last month.
On May 19 1965, Earl Howe officially opened Haversham County Primary School in The Crescent, Haversham. Fifty years later, MK Council’s director of children’s services, Michael Bracey, unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the special milestone.
He also unveiled a commemorative tree plaque to former headteacher Sue Cope who sadly passed away in 2013.
Following speeches, the children sang and 50 golden balloons were released by 50 current and past pupils across five decades.
In the hall, a fascinating display traced the history of the school across the decades, while outside a jazz band played as visitors enjoyed birthday cake and sparkling wine.
