GP welcomes new Oakridge pharmacy

Hot on the heels of Asda opening its doors at Oakridge Park Local Centre, Jardines pharmacy - having provided '˜temporary' service from a porta-cabin for past three years '“ have now opened up in new premises opposite, next to the medical centre.

The opening ceremony was performed by the medical centre’s senior partner and cardiologist, Dr Mahendran.

Also present were practice manager Gaynor Young, Krishan Modi, Maxine Widdows and Has Modi.

“This improved facility could not have come at better time, with winter pressures round the corner and when GP practices throughout Milton Keynes and A&E are all already overstretched” said Dr Mahendran.

Jardines chief pharmacist Has Modi said: “With an aging population and acute recruitment issues, the NHS is already overstretched. Pharmacies therefore have a huge role to play by being available for not only the prescribed medicines but also for the treatment of common ailments and timely healthcare advice.”
