Graffiti vandals defile Milton Keynes' famous peace pagoda

Visitors to Willen Lake were horrified to find orange graffiti scrawled all over the famous peace pagoda at Willen Lake this week.

There is also similarly-worded graffiti, bearing the same anti-Christian messages, on the back of the nearby Church of Mary Magdalene in Willen.

The graffiti bears a striking resemblance to that recently scrawled on an historic grave in the churchyard of St Peter and St Paul in Newport Pagnell.

Police have appealed for anybody who has any information about the vandals.

The Willen pace pagoda was built in 1980, and was the first in the western world. There is a Nipponzan-Myōhōji Order temple and monastery nearby.
