Youngsters in the city love visiting the thriving theatre so a group of lucky children were thrilled to enjoy a five-day course themed around this summer’s monster of a show, Shrek The Musical.
The University of Bedfordshire sponsored the workshop at Milton Keynes Theatre, allowing 17 children aged between six and ten to discover the magic of theatre. They explored backstage, found out fascinating fun facts and enjoyed art and drama-based activities.
By collecting and recoding their arts experiences in a log throughout the week, the participants were all able to build a portfolio of creativity, earning themselves a recognised Arts Award.
As if that wasn’t entertainment enough, the group also got to watch a matinee performance of the musical!
Seven-year-old Penelope said: “I loved that we did something different every day.”
