PureGym members have rowed 1,139 miles as part of a charity event for Cancer Research UK.

The club, on Snowdon Drive, has been taking part in a rowing challenge, GB Row 2013, a 2000-mile sponsored race around Great Britain.

During May 1 and June 30 it asked members to row as many miles as they could at their respective gyms.

So far £17,000 has been raised for Cancer Research UK, and the 49 clubs across the country have rowed the equivalent of 21 circuits of the UK with PureGym Milton Keynes contributing 1,139 miles.

General Manager of PureGym Milton Keynes, Najoua Chekaya, said: “It has been great to see so many members come together to try and virtually row around mainland Great Britain””

For more information, talk to a member of staff or see the challenge banner near the rowing machines at PureGym Milton Keynes.
