Milton Keynes moviemakers Haddon Street have returned from a prestigious film festival ‘proud as punch’ that their amateur production was shortlisted from 120 others.

Although the top prize eluded them, the talented MacIntyre team were presented with a certificate marking the fact that their topical film ‘Olympic Special’ reached the last 10 in the competitive screening section of the festival.

The team from the MacIntyre Lifelong Learning Centre at Great Holm were thrilled to have been shortlisted for an event which supports and promotes independent film makers and provides a platform for them to showcase their work.

They all attended the festival, which took place at the National Film and Television School at Beaconsfield.

Paul Payne, Learning Support Worker said: ”The standard of entries was extremely high and the whole experience was a wonderful boost for the team. It is something they will remember for a long time,”
