Hammer attack on man for his bike

A MAN was headbutted and hit with a claw hammer as he rode his bike in Loughton earlier this week.

At around 2am on Wednesday August 22, the 20-year-old man and his friend were cycling through the sports ground near Linceslade Grove, when the victim was approached by two men who demanded his bike.

One offender headbutted the victim and the other hit him with a claw hammer.

When the victim’s friend approached the two men they ran off. Nothing was stolen.

The victim had swelling above his left eye and marks on his body caused by the claw hammer but did not require hospital treatment.

The first offender is 5ft 10ins, slim, and was wearing a dark hooded top and trousers. His face was covered by a bandana.

The second offender is 5ft 10ins, of a medium build and was wearing a black hooded top and trousers. His face was covered with a bandana which had gold coloured spots on it.

The age and colour of skin of the offenders is not known due to their faces being covered.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the offence, recognises the description of the offenders, or who saw the offenders in the area around the time of the incident.

Anyone with any information should contact Det Con Samantha Reynolds of Milton Keynes police station via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 101.
