BEAMING youngster Harvey McCarthy led his heroes out onto the pitch in Manchester last month.

As a baby, Harvey suffered with Meningococcal Septicaemia meningitis at just nine months old.

The illness meant he lost a third of each foot and some digits on each hand.

But now Harvey walks unaided with the help of prosthetic feet, and ran out on to the pitch at the Stadium of Manchester with hero Carlos Tevez for their game against Wigan last month, even scoring a penalty past the England keeper Joe Hart at half time.

Dad Mark said: “I was choked to bits and had tears in the eyes when watching the little fella run out on to the pitch.”
