Karen Ford, head of the council’s Regulatory Unit, has been suspended from her post, pending an investigation.

A spokesman for Milton Keynes Council confirmed Mrs Ford had been suspended but insisted that it does not give any indication on whether allegations made against her were true or not.

The spokesman said: “The council has been made aware of some allegations but this is a neutral procedure. A suspension is common practice and gives no implication of guilt.”

The council’s Regulatory Unit deals with issues relating to Environmental Health, including noise nuisance and encompasses Trading Standards.
