Dr Prasad sadly passed away in late January 2016 and Dr Rao, the remaining doctor at the practice, is retiring on 31 March 2016.

Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS England are currently in the process of appointing a temporary provider for the practice from 1 April 2016.

Dr Nicola Smith, Chair of NHS Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Our thoughts continue to be with Dr Prasad’s family and friends at this sad time. We would like to thank Dr Rao for his services to patients in the area for the last 28 years and we all wish him well in his retirement.

“All patients registered with the GP practice at Neath Hill Health Centre can be assured that the services there will continue to be available and the practice will remain open.

“We do recognise that many patients will have been under the care of the practice for many years and realise this may be unsettling. So, we are doing everything we can to minimise disruption and ensure that the high standards of care continue to be provided.”

Dominic Cox, locality director of NHS England in Milton Keynes, said: “We would like to reassure patients that services will continue to operate in the usual way and with most of the existing staff at the surgery.

“We expect the temporary provider will be in place for a number of months and we will contact patients so that they can help us make longer-term plans.”

The CCG and NHS England have written to all patients registered at the GP practice. Should patients require any further information, they should contact the NHS England Customer Contact Centre, by email [email protected] or by telephone 0300 311 22 33.
