Cancer patients are banking on a more pleasant stay at Milton Keynes Hospital, after Santander staff helped to redevelop the Macmillan cancer unit garden.

The green-fingered volunteers planted flowers and painted benches to make the garden a bright and colourful space to spend time in.

And with the help landscapers GP Plantscapes, the new garden features seating areas and paved walkways based on a design that was chosen by patients, visitors and staff on the cancer unit

Vanessa Holmes, the Milton Keynes Hospital head of fundraising, said: “People giving their time to the hospital is just as important as donations. Thank you so much to Santander, GP Plantscapes and all the volunteers who have taken time out to support our cancer unit. It really has been transformed.”
