Blue is the colour for Milton Keynes Hospital Charity next week - and you can be a true blue too.
The charity is turning the whole city blue as part of its second Wear It Blue event on May 1.
Local schools and businesses have been invited to wear the appeal colour of blue for the day to raise money for Leo’s Appeal, which is fundraising for the children’s wards at the hospital.
Organisations including the MK Dons, Safari MK, Badminton England, New Chapter Primary School, and Two Mile Ash School have joined Team Leo and pledged their support for the day.
Rosi Day, events & party coordinator at Safari MK, said: “We are so excited to take part in Wear It Blue. Leo the Lion and the fundraising team from Milton Keynes Hospital Charity will be stopping by to help with our activities and to talk to our visitors about how our donations will help other local children who are ill in hospital.
“We’re proud to support a local charity which is working hard for a great cause.”
Jenny Howells, fundraising officer at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, added: “Following a fantastic launch last year - raising over £3,000 - I am hoping Wear It Blue 2015 will big bigger and better than ever! It is lovely to have the continued support from those who took part last year, as well as welcoming new supporters to Team Leo.”
Leo’s Appeal was launched in September 2013 and is raising funds to enhance the children’s wards at Milton Keynes Hospital. Wear It Blue was launched in May 2014.
