How’s this for a way of lifting the lid on the fight against bowel cancer?
The charity Beating Bowel Cancer came to town on Friday (April 17) with their team convinced that they can crack the stigma surrounding the disease.
Despite bowel cancer being the UK’s second biggest cancer killer it is still considered a taboo by many, and sometimes embarrassment can even stop people from getting the help they need and lead them to die needlessly from embarrassment.
Nine out of 10 cases of bowel cancer can be treated successfully if diagnosed early, but each year 41,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with it and 16,000 die.
