MP Mark Lancaster has offered his support to Carers Week which is taking place next week.
Carers Week is a national campaign which tries to highlight and celebrate the work 6.5million carers do on a daily basis in the UK.
Mark, who recently shadowed a team of carers for a day, has worked hard to highlight the good work they carry out in Milton Keynes and is pleased to be backing such an important campaign.
In 2013 Carers Week will be focusing on whether the nation is “Prepared to Care?” The campaign will highlight how the UK’s current carer population is coping, how effectively government is supporting the growing numbers of carers, and whether the wider population is prepared for future caring responsibilities.
Mark said: “Every day across Milton Keynes one in eight people will care for a loved one in some form. This hidden group of people give up their time, sometimes their jobs and often make life changing sacrifices to care for someone. I have seen firsthand the phenomenal work carers do and would like everyone to show support to our carers.”
