A MAN is threatening to starve himself on the streets of Stony Stratford.

On Monday, the man, who does want to be named, began his protest, refusing food, water and shelter outside of a Cox & Robinson pharmacy in Market Square. He has spent the last two days and nights on a park bench and says he intends to die there.

The man, who says he suffers from a back condition, claims he has not been given access to benefits he believes he deserves due to his illness.

A police spokesman said he is entitled to protest in the street but added: “If there is fear for his welfare then we will step in.”
