Milton Keynes race director Andy Hully is appealing for volunteers to make this year’s event event an even bigger succes than last year’s.
He said: “We couldn’t put on this flagship sporting event without them and we really do appreciate the fact that people willingly give up their time to help make the MK marathon one of the op 10 in the country.”
Olney Ward councillor David Hosking is among those taking part.
He’s hoping to raise £2,500 for the Royal British Legion and explained: “Many of my family and friends have served in the military and I know about the essential work the Legion does supporting our armed forces and their families.”
He’s training hard for the 26.2 mile event on Bank Holiday Monday (May 4).
A half marathon was added last year in addition to the ever popular Superhero Fun Run and Geoffrey Leaver Marathon Relay.
