Hilary Saunders has been re-elected as chairman of Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council.
She edged out prospective candidate, Marie Osborne, by seven votes to six at the council’s annual general meeting last night.
She said: “I’m very pleased to be re-elected and I hope we can now keep everything going in the right direction, add to the good work we are already doing and keep working together, all 16 councillors.
“We work very well together and where elections can often be divisive we now need to put that behind us. We are all councillors and we are all equal, we put in a lot of work and make our money go a long way.”
Ansar Hussain was voted in as vice-chairman.
