A MARQUEE is to be erected outside a Great Brickhill church to cope with the hundreds of people expected to attend the memorial service of popular Sir Philip Duncombe.

Sir Philip, who had a distinguished military background and was a former High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, died peacefully on December 22.

He also worked tirelessly to save Bletchley Park and was a keen supporter of the Trust.

The memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday January 13 at St Mary the Virgin Church in Great Brickhill. A private family burial will take place earlier the same day.
