A footballer who played 73 minutes for MK Dons in 2012 is set to appear on a reality television programme.

Jimmy Bullard, whose brief spell at stadium:mk lasted 35 days before he retired from professional football, will appear on the 14th series of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! which starts on Sunday night.

Jimmy was also called up for three England squads under Fabio Capello without playing a game. He will now have to impress the likes of Ant and Dec and Joe Swash.

Dons manager Karl Robinson, who brought Bullard to Buckinghamshire, said he would be watching the show.

He said: “For Jimmy to be in the jungle is a scary thought. He can’t sit still for more than two minutes and he can’t go anywhere. I honestly don’t know how she’s going to do it.

“Thankfully, it won’t be live! Jimmy in the jungle? The lions, tigers and bears should be scared. When I found out, I honestly couldn’t believe it.

“It’s great that he played for us as well, because it gives us a little bit of exposure. I wish I could’ve sent some of my players over the last five years to the jungle!

“I’m not one for programmes like that, but I will be watching this.”

What do you think? Will Jimmy’s brief spell at stadium:mk, and playing for a variety of top flight clubs, equip him for life in the jungle? Should the Dons have applied for a swap deal to sign Kerry Katona to play central defence? And apart from Michael Buerk have you heard of any of the other people who will be on this year’s show?
