IF: Fest reveals a rich programme of delight

Highlights of the 2014 IF: Festival have just been released, and promise to dazzle the city with the good, the great and the simply unusual.

The biennual event – produced by The Stables and supported by Arts Council England and Milton Keynes Council – will present 10 days of terrific entertainment between July 18 and 27.

Music, comedy, cabaret, free events, family entertainment and large-scale spectaculars all play their part in the monster festival.

Among those so far confirmed are sonic artist Ray Lee, award-winning choreographer Rosemary Lee, who will present a world premiere at The Cathedral of Trees in Newlands, singer-songwriter Seth Lakeman and swing-pop girls The Puppini Sisters.

Puppet State Theatre Company will deliver the multi-sensory adaptation of The Man Who Planted Trees.

The programme is eclectic and caters for all.

“IF: Milton Keynes International Festival has been developed to enrich people’s experience of Milton Keynes both by presenting top class events by international artists and also by creating events within the city for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike,” explained festival director Monica Ferguson.

“Central Milton Keynes is animated throughout each of the festival’s 10 days with some of the best performances, music, comedy, artists and large-scale events the world has to offer.

“This year we are again working with a range of partners to deliver the festival and enssure a fantastic programme for festival-goers.

“As ever, there are plenty of surprises in unusual places across the city, “ she promised.
