Inquest opens into the death of Alex Todd-Weller from Milton Keynes

An inquest into the death of a 21-year-old man, whose body was found in Furzton Lake last week, opened today.

Alex Todd-Weller, of Plantation Place, Shenley Brook End, was reported missing by his family at 8pm last Monday after he failed to turn up for work.

The musician had been on a night out with friends to Pink Punters nightclub in Fenny Stratford that evening.

A possible sighting of a male fitting Alex’s description was seen lying at the side of the road at 4.10am on Monday morning, the inquest heard.

A body was found in Furzton Lake on Friday, September 12, which was later identified as Alex.

A postmortem has been carried out and the coroner is awaiting the results of tests.

Milton Keynes Coroner Tom Osborne has released the body to the family and adjourned proceedings until a full inquest is held on January 23 next year.

Mr Osborne said: “I would like to express my own condolences to the family for the sad circumstances of Alexander’s death.”
