Internationally recognised institute opens MK head office
The mayor was welcomed by institute president, Prof Barry Gibbs.
The Institute of Acoustics is the UK’s professional body for those working in acoustics, noise and vibration, representing more than 3,000 members including engineers, scientists, educators, lawyers, occupational hygienists, architects and environmental health officers.

Hide AdRecognised worldwide as a centre of expertise, the institute organises conferences and training in a number of specialist fields.
Last month it ran an Underwater Acoustics conference in Italy and in October it is holding a Building Acoustics conference in Hamburg.
The Milton Keynes office doubles as the institute’s head office and as a venue for its postgraduate Diploma in Acoustics.
Students from around the world join the lectures live via the institute’s video conferencing facilities.
When not in use, these facilities will be available for hire on a commercial basis.
