Children at Fairfields Primary School visited one of the spacious show homes at David Wilson Homes Northampton’s Fairfields development and were transfixed by the words of professional storyteller Martin Reed.

Headteacher Matthew Shotton said: “At Fairfields Primary School we place great importance on reading and our aim is to create an environment where children are immersed in a wealth of books and stories in order to develop a life-long love of reading.

“We believe that reading is the key to all learning and this story telling opportunity provided by David Wilson Homes has given our children yet another forum in which to enjoy stories. The children were delighted to be able to play an active part in the session and continued the theme once they returned to school, performing stories for each other. It definitely made it a World Book Day to remember.”
